"When a measure becomes
a target, it ceases to be a
good measure."

-Charles Goodhart

Hi, I’m Shneur.
Yes, that’s my real name.
No, I was not consulted on the matter.

In second grade, my favorite teacher, Ms. Saul, told me I should go into advertising. I had absolutely no idea what advertising was, but 20 years later, I have to admit she was onto something.

At 19, I found myself at a bit of a crossroads. I had finished my associate degree, logged 140+ clinical hours, and become a New York City–licensed EMT. The logical next step was to pursue the medical career everyone expected of me. But I knew I wanted to do something else. So I listened to the voice that had been stuck in my head since second grade, pivoted into advertising, and haven’t looked back since.

It probably shouldn’t be surprising that my path into strategy hasn’t exactly been
linear. I’ve worked across account management, media, communications, and brand strategy, with experience spanning healthcare, technology, CPG, insurance, and beyond. I’ve also spent a fair amount of time outside the office, backpacking across Europe, India, Central America, and Latin America. Both experiences taught me the same thing: perspective matters.

Today, I’m a strategist at The Martin Agency, where I help brands solve business problems by understanding people, culture, and the spaces where the two intersect. Over the past seven years, I’ve worked across communications, brand, social, and media strategy, helping turn human insights into ideas that move businesses and, ideally, make people feel something along the way.

I’m endlessly curious, probably ask too many questions, and genuinely believe the best strategy starts with getting to know people rather than simply looking at the numbers describing them.

And while I’m proud of the work that has made its way into case studies, awards, and pitch decks, I’m just as proud of the people I’ve helped along the way. I love mentoring younger strategists, bringing different disciplines together, and creating the kind of environment where smart people can do their best work.

So, that’s me. A strategist by trade, a curious person by nature, and, 20 years later, still trying to prove Ms. Saul right.
